The Pilots of the Ouachita Mountains are recognized!

I was very surprised and pleased to be informed by the USHPA that I was to receive a “Commendation Award” for my efforts in promoting Hang Gliding in the United States. 

They made mention of the Web Site (www.ouachitahanggliding.com) and also made mention of the Ouachita Mountains Hang Gliding Series.  Although these two ventures are were originally my inspirations, I could not have brought them to completion without the input and support and contributions of the pilots of Arkansas and Oklahoma. 

This award is for all the pilots who have pursued to make hang gliding in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas and Oklahoma a richer experience.

Sue and I decided to attend the Awards Banquet in Colorado Springs and turn it into a mini vacation.  We visited some of the spectacular scenic destinations on Saturday, attended the Awards Banquet, and met some really nice people, and on Sunday we skied at Breckenridge.  That was pretty cool.
